--STAGE RUSSIA LIVE CINEMA SEASON--

Stage Russia presents Leo Tolstoy's ANNA KARENINA. Captured live on stage at the Vakhtangov State Academic Theatre of Russia

[Run time: 2hrs 15min, one intermission]

Directed by Lithuanian choreographer Anzelica Cholina, this multiple award-winning Vakhtangov Theatre production is a staging of Tolstoy’s classic novel entirely in contemporary dance.

An enchanting mapping of Tolstoy’s words into harmony and movement, with every gesture a sublime underscore of literary significances. Accompanied by the music of Alfred Schnittke helping to reveal the characters of the drama and their depth, together with elegance and mood corresponding to the amplitude of the novel. Cholina’s KARENINA is a masterful revelation of the turbulent genius of Tolstoy for those who prefer Netflix over Kindles.

Winner of the "Villanueva Award", Best Foreign Performance, International Havana Theatre Festival; Winner "Crystal Turandot" Best Debut Performance, Olga Lerman.
