It's 1962, it's Baltimore, Maryland and Tracy Turnblad, pleasantly plump, in highschool and dreaming of stardom as a local TV dancer is all of us. She will have the biggest hair, she will fight racial segregation and she will be President! (Not really) Starring Ricki Lake, Divine, Jerry Stiller and so many more, this is the classic 1988 John Waters movie, that inspired the Broadway musical, that became the movie musical and gave us John Travolta in drag. Speaking of drag, this is an interactive screening, yella t the screen, cheer, hiss, boo and DRINK — There will be a bar in the theatre! Leading the shenanigans, Becca D'Bus!
Before the movie, come for dinner at Intermission Bar! It's a glorious spread of classic American Diner Breakfast Foods, for Dinner! — Good Morning Baltimore!
And at the end of the screening, after all that dancing on screen, it's YOUR TURN! Dance till late at the afterparty helmed by DJ Bobby Luo!
The Glory Hoes present is a series of queer film experiences. You’re hosted, sometimes you dress up, or sing, definitely cheer and hiss, yell at the screen and always lubricated with lots of booze. Films by queers, about our people and embraced by people like us. And when that is done, an AFTERPARTY! Dancing! Dancing! Dancing!
The Glory Hoes are: Becca D’Bus, Bobby Luo, Prashant Somosundram They works with the glorious people of The Projector
