This special Film & Talk session will explore the life, work and legacy of Hieronymus Bosch, the great master and innovator of early Netherlandish painting - providing an in-depth look into the artist’s distinct body of work focusing on his famous painting “The Garden of Delights”.

The session will feature a pre-show art talk with guest lecturer Dr Sian Jay and a screening of the documentary BOSCH: THE GARDEN OF DREAMS after the talk.

This event is presented in collaboration with Corcovado Arts.

BOSCH: THE GARDEN OF DREAMS is a documentary that closely examines one of the most iconic, cryptic and esoteric paintings in history - The Garden of Earthly Delights. Featuring exclusive interviews from top art critics and experts, including insightful commentary by international artists such as Salman Rushdie, Cai Guo- Qiang and Ludovico Einaudi. Through unique exclusive access granted by the Prado Museum, the film explores and seeks to unveil all the unanswered questions about the painter himself and the painting, and how it has inspired writers, painters, and musicians from all over the world.

About the guest speaker

Dr. Jay is an Oxford educated anthropologist with a passionate interest in art, architecture and design history. Formerly a researcher in the departments of Ethnography and Oriental Antiquities at the British Museum in London, and an Editor for the Macmillan Dictionary of Art, she is now based in Singapore.
She has taught at LASALLE College of the Arts since 2000 running Diploma and BA courses on the History of Art, Design and Architecture, as well as teaching classes on the history and anthropology of the theatre.
