4 dystopian short films set in the not-so-distant future of Thailand.

SUNSET by Aditya Assarat

A razor-sharp commentary on the unnatural nature of censorship, this unironically black-and-white short sees a small army squadron paying an untimely visit to a small art gallery.

CATOPIA by Wisit Sasanatieng

A wry, absurdist take on Planet Of The Apes but instead with cats, Sasanatieng envisions a future where feline overlords reign supreme and humans become the hunted.

PLANETARIUM by Chulayarnnon Siriphol

Part art installation, part surrealist theatre and part Orwellian music video that satirises a future of extreme military and religious indoctrination, Siriphol's darkly playful 'Big Mother Is Watching' style short sees a flashy matronly ruler tightening her regimental grip and surveillance over a group of socially manufactured boy scouts.

SONG OF THE CITY by Apichatpong Weerasethaku

In the sleepy Ratchadanussorn park in Khon Kaen, an impressive statue of Field Marshal Sarit Thanarat - who staged a coup to become prime minister - stands tall keeping watch. Setting his lens to long takes, Apichatpong records murmurs of life around this symbolic capsule, patiently orchestrating a disquieting visual song of a past future.
