Beethoven’s only opera is a masterpiece of risk and triumph, and probably the only opera not referenced in Bohemian Rhapsody. Featuring 'world's greatest tenor' Jonas Kaufmann who plays political prisoner Florestan, and Lise Davidsen his wife Leonore (disguised as a prison guard 'Fidelio') who sets up to rescue him from death.
