A day in the life of Niko Fischer, a college dropout drifting through Berlin. Unmotivated, Niko spends his day searching for a decent cup of coffee while encountering a series of absurd, and humorous interactions with eccentric characters from his past and present. As the day unfolds, he confronts his own failures, relationships, and existential dissatisfaction. Shot in stylish black-and-white, the film captures the aimlessness of post-reunification Berlin youth with wit and poignancy, and subtle social commentary.

Who is the murderer?

In this classic German thriller, Hans Beckert, a serial killer who preys on children, becomes the focus of a massive Berlin police manhunt. A harrowing masterwork M, director Fritz Lang (Metropolis, 1927) merges trenchant social commentary with chilling suspense, creating a panorama of private madness and public hysteria that to this day remains the blueprint for the psychological thriller.
