Founded in 1946, it is regarded as one of the most prestigious Film Festivals in the world; with Filmmakers all over aiming for the much coveted Palme d’Or - the highest prize awarded at the festival.
Past Palme d’Or winners include Parasite, Shoplifters, L’Enfant, and Taste of Cherry.
Other Notable awards at Cannes Film Festival include: Grand Prix (Second highest award after Palme d’Or), Camera d’Or (Best Debut Feature Film), Un Certain Regard (Best Innovative, Daring & Promising Film), and The Golden Eye (Best Documentary) among many others.
Every year we at The Projector are excited to bring in both winners and nominees from the festival, showcasing films you may not encounter on a regular basis, and of course to indulge in cinema at its finest!
