FRENCH FILM FESTIVAL to
For the 35th edition of the French Film Festival in Singapore, we pay homage to the brilliant French auteur and pioneer female filmmaker Mia Hansen-Løve.
“Goodbye First Love” and “Things To Come” are narratives connected by an exploration of lost love, the painful necessity for growth and the fulfillment and freedom that can be found when we move on from emotional trauma.
However, as dramatic as this might sound, Mia Hansen-Løve’s film language is always sensual, gentle and naturalistic. The director insightfully observes womanhood without making statements or enforcing stereotypes, treating her characters with care and respect, undoubtedly due to the autobiographical nature of her work.
We love Mia Hansen-Løve and we hope you do, or will, as well!
